Liz Milligan started off her season this year as the new Jasper volleyball varsity coach. Faced by a plague of injuries before the season began, the wildcats were able pull a big victory as they played the first home match ever in the new Jasper gymnasium. With this great win under their belts, Coach Milligan knew it would be a fun season.

Knowing of Jasper volleyball’s successful past, Coach Milligan was honored when chosen to come back into the program. She played volleyball at Jasper in the 1980s under past-coach Pat Zehr whom Milligan admired for the legacy she had left on the school’s girls’ sports programs. From 1993-2005 Milligan coached for Jasper’s Junior Varsity team. “I’m excited for this opportunity and the chance to leave my mark on this legendary program,” Milligan stated.

With the volleyball girls working hard in practice, Milligan hopes that they will be able to give the crowd something to cheer about at Thursday night’s sectional game against Washington. Her ultimate goal for her coaching career is to be able to play for a State Championship title and to continue building a volleyball “family”. She plans to do everything in her power to make it happen.
