This weekend, the Jasper Marching Wildcats traveled to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to compete in the Middle Tennessee State University Contest of Champions. This year was the first time in many years that the Marching Wildcats have competed in this contest. The band left during 5th period Friday to take the journey to Tennessee. Jasper was the only band from Indiana competing and represented our state and school very well. They earned a superior title and got 2nd in prelims in their class moving on to finals later that night. The Marching Wildcats had one of their best runs of the season during finals and received a standing ovation from the band that was in first place at prelims. The Cats earned the title of Reserve Grand Champion and second place at finals, improving their score from the afternoon. The band is very proud of how they did and look forward to semi-state next Saturday at Pike High School in Indianapolis. Good job Jasper Marching Wildcats!
